Um, a club is getting dragged for claiming it’s booked the real Martha from Baby Reindeer

‘As a business you should be appalled – absolutely vile’

Kasbah club in Coventry is receiving backlash after it claimed on social media to have booked the “real life” Martha from Baby Reindeer on Netflix for an appearance.

Kasbah nightclub shared a poster on its Facebook and Instagram pages saying it has booked Fiona Harvey, who has come forward as the alleged real woman who inspired Martha in Baby Reindeer, just a few days after her big profile interview with Piers Morgan.

Club claims to have booked Martha from Baby Reindeer for appearance

Claiming the club appearance is a “world exclusive”, Kasbah club writes: “A personal appearance by Fiona Harvey aka Martha of Baby Reindeer this Saturday 18th May. She will be signing autographs, taking selfies and she may also take a lucky reindeer home to hang her curtains.”

Apparently some kind of joke, you can’t currently buy tickets for the event, which has received a lot of backlash in the comment section of Kasbah’s socials.

One person writes: “How on earth do you find it acceptable to direct take the piss out of a man’s sexual harassment and stalking story? For shame.” Another commented that people are treating Fiona Harvey like a “literal celebrity”.

On Facebook, someone commented: “This isn’t okay, don’t take advantage of someone so vulnerable.” Kasbah responded: “The actor has starred in a series based on his own true life story, he literally created the publicity for her? He’s laughing all the way to the bank.”

The “real” Martha, Fiona Harvey, recently did an interview with Piers Morgan where she told him that she “is not a stalker” and has never spent time in prison. “It is completely untrue and very career damaging,” she said. “I want to rebut that. I’m not a stalker. It’s just complete nonsense.”

The Tab has reached out to Kasbah nightclub for comment.
