MAFS Australia’s Jesse admits he staged romantic photos with Janelle to ‘stir the pot’

Married at First Sight Australia groom Jesse Burford reveals that he and Janelle staged paparazzi photos to make it look like they were a couple to “stir the pot”.

Jesse and Janelle both met on the MAFS Australia experiment and formed a bond after their respective partners cheated on them with each other.

Since then, rumours of Jesse and Janelle’s relationship have been circulating online and although they did share a kiss, there wasn’t a whole lot of truth to their romance.

Jesse told PerthNow that while he and Janelle did kiss after MAFS Australia, it was never anything more than a friendship between the pair.

“It’s quite ironic, because we deliberately took photos of us holding hands to stir the pot,” he told the publication.

“Janelle and I knew each other a little bit at that point, but the funny thing is that after we started taking pictures of us cuddling and going out and stuff, that began the process of us actually connecting.

“We did share a kiss before she moved to Sydney, and I think if she stayed in Perth it probably could have gone somewhere, to be honest with you.”

MAFS Australia fans were sent into haywire when Janelle revealed she and Jesse had kiss but any idea of a romance between the two was soon squashed as they realised they were better as friends.

Speaking to Yahoo Australia, Janelle said: “So there are some articles of me and Jesse hanging out a lot in Perth. We did have a bit of a trauma bond and, he might hate me, but we have shared a peck. Just an innocent little peck that’s it.”

“It might have been friendly, it might have been romantic, I’m not sure. But we have had the conversation that we weren’t going to pursue anything because I moved to Sydney. So at the moment, we’re just really good friends.”

Janelle recently soft launched the new man in her life so it’s safe to say her and Jesse won’t be getting together any time soon.
