Reddit theories about what will happen in Georgie and Mandy Young Sheldon spin off show

Ahead of the release of Georgie and Mandy spin off after Young Sheldon, fans are coming up with theories on what exactly the storylines are going to be Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and whether old cast members will make a cameo.

The difficulty of this show is that Georgie’s storyline is supposedly already laid out from fans that have watched The Big Bang Theory. Whether the producers use the spin off to change the narrative won’t be clear until the show actually airs. It still has to make it past a pilot episode which is due to air later on in 2024.

There’s a bit of bad fate with terrible spin off shows such as Joey, How I Met Your Father and The Cleveland Show. So the stakes will be high for this release. Here all the theories according to fans on what will happen in the new Young Sheldon spin off show Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage:

The 12 year age gap will continue to cause relationship problems

Fans are speculating on Reddit that the 12 year age difference between the pair will catch up to them in the long run. Mandy has had to leave her old job and move back to her hometown, which isn’t the best start. She kind of messed up her life and then had a baby. Also, Georgie lied about his age to Mandy and didn’t say he was 17 when they got together. The only thing that has really kept the peace is the pregnancy and once the child grows up, will they be able to handle of all life’s challenges? Not to mention, the Pretty Little Liar’s storyline of Aria and Ezra has cursed the TV world of large age gap relationships being rocky.

The couple may split up like in The Big Bang Theory

Some Reddit users have even suggested that the couple may just split up during the spin off. If you are a fan of The Big Bang Theory then Georgie’s storyline ultimately sees him splitting up with Mandy and having several failed marriages. However, producers have not confirmed or denied anything so there is a chance that the spin off show will have it’s own world instead.

Will Mandy die in the spin off series?

A far fetched theory is that Mandy would be killed off in the spin off as she doesn’t appear in The Big Bang Theory. There is a push for the audience to see them as a perfect couple by the end of Young Sheldon suggesting that a more grim storyline could be put in place to mix it up.

There won’t be familiar faces from Young Sheldon

So far, Iain Armitage hasn’t been confirmed to appear in the spin off leaving fans on Reddit wondering if there will be many familiar faces at all. Speaking to TV Line, Sheldon said: “He would be up for it if he got the call to reprise his role.”

This has sparked discussion that it’s not looking likely so far for him to appear. Or maybe the cast have been told not to say, such as Raegan Revord who plays Missy responded to a comment saying she wasn’t asked to be in the new show. Perhaps the show needs to air it’s pilot episode first before too many of the old cast jump on the bandwagon. However, it has been confirmed that Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso will be reprising their roles as Mandy’s parents.

Georgie will be a responsible father and it could be boring to watch

There was quite a major character arch in Young Sheldon which saw Georgie developing from being an irresponsible teenage to a responsible father, which is why fans loved him so much. However, if now in this spin off he is embarking in a serious marriage will there be any where for the story to go? Unless, he splits up from Mandy which couldn’t happen super early on in the season. Some fans on Reddit think the whole dynamic of the show is set up to fail and will be rather dull to watch.
