Drag Race has made *big* changes to the prize the winner gets in the upcoming season 14 finale

And the queen that finishes second won’t leave empty handed 👀

We are a matter of two measly weeks away from the Grand Finale of season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and what an absolute journey it’s been getting here. Whilst this season is one of the longest ever, it hasn’t really felt like it – not like the long slog that was season 13. Despite the laughs about this season being so reluctant to send queens home, it’s been a joy watching one of the most talented cast of queens in franchise herstory thrive week to week and result in, for the first time ever, a top five. And after the final music video challenge this week it really did feel deserved. Also, for the first time in years, the winner of Drag Race season 14 will see huge changes to the prize she gets, and she won’t be the only one!

There will be two prizes, and both are HUGE

Announced on 7th April, the queen that wins RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 will take home a prize of $150,000, upped from the usual $100,000 which it’s been set at since season four. For the first time ever, the second place queen will also take home a cash prize – so whoever finishes as runner up will take home $50,000.

This is in addition to the earnings to the top five queens have already accrued through challenge wins across the season. Angeria currently has earned $12,500, Bosco $20,000, Daya Betty $5,000, Lady Camden $15,000 and Willow Pill on $7,500. The final will air after this week’s reunion episode – and we will see who walks away with the crown and the cash!
