Here’s everything that went down in Only Murders in the Building season two

I’m in desperate need of season three in my life

Only Murders in the Build season three is imminent and viewers cannot wait to see what Charles, Mabel and Oliver get up to this time. Season two left off on a cliffhanger that no one expected, and that was just Paul Rudd being in it. Only Murders in the Building season two covered multiple plot lines when Mabel becomes the centre suspect in Bunny’s murder. But what else happened?

Here’s a recap of everything that happened on Only Murders in the Building, that you need to know ahead of season three.

At the beginning of season two, Mabel, Charles and Oliver are taken into custody after Bunny is murder. However they are later released due to a lack of evidence. Following the arrest, Mabel attempts to distance herself from crime, including the podcast with Charles and Oliver.

Unfortunately it seems to follow her as she gains a cult like following of “fans” on social media who dubbed her as Bloody Mabel. It gets more tricky when it looks like Mabel stabs Glitter Guy, one of the suspects that she Charles and Oliver had.

Mabel gives her love life another shot with Alice

In season one, Mabel had a bit of a tryst with her childhood friend but it didn’t work out. Season two saw the introduction of Cara Delevigne as Alice, a local artist who Mabel forms a bond with.

Alice helps Mabel with her struggles connecting with her artistic side and they eventually start a relationship.

Charles accepts a role in the Brazzos reboot but it’s not what he would’ve hoped

Charles takes some time away from the podcast and accepts a role in the reboot of Brazzos. However, he learns that the series will be focused on his niece and he is now Uncle Brazzos.

During filming Lucy, the daughter of Charles’ ex-girlfriend, vists him and reveals there are tunnels across The Arconia but fails to tell him she saw the killer flee the building the night of Bunny’s murder.

Oliver eventually convinces Charles and Mabel to do a sequel to the podcast

Oliver also gets close to his son Will while helping him direct a play. During this time, Oliver takes a DNA test that reveals he may not be Will’s father, however he agrees to never tell Will.

There’s a lot of talk about a painting in season two

One of the most confusing parts of Only Murders in the Building season two was the painting. The killer places a painting that used to belong to Bunny in Charles’ apartment. Charles discovers that it is his father’s story that is shown through the painting.

After the trio try to sneak it back into Bunny’s apartment, they leave it in a bin after failing to do so. Amy Schumer then takes it and puts it in her penthouse apartment, only to find out it’s fake.

Bunny’s mother, Leonara, shows up after her daughter’s death hoping to get the painting that she claimed was hers. The real painting is revealed to be under the cage of Mrs Gambolini and it’s then revealed another painting is underneath.

The last twist is that the woman claiming to be Leonara is actually Rose Cooper, the artist behind both paintings and a woman who was in love with Charles’ father.

It’s messy!!

Who killed Bunny in Only Murders in the Building season two?

The entire plot line of Only Murders in the Building season two is who killed Bunny. In the flashback episode, viewers see the trio solved the season one mystery and Bunny tried to connect with them by offering them a bottle of champagne. But, they reject her and she was murdered shortly after.

In the present, Mabel, Charles and Oliver feel guilty that they could have saved Bunny if they had accepted her champagne. The trio decide they have to find her killer and find out she was stabbed with a knife as well as a knitting needle.

The knife shows up in Charles’ apartment and they give it to Detective Williams who gets it tested and discovers the murderer’s DNA on it. Before she dies, Bunny whispered 14 and Sandwich to Mabel, which is the killer’s order at The Pickle Diner.

The trio host a Killer Reveal Party and it is revealed that Cinda’s assistant, Poppy, is the mastermind with Detective Kreps as her accomplice.

It is later revealed that Poppy’s real name is actually Becky Butler, a girl who was supposedly murdered according to Cinda’s podcast, All Is Not OK in Oklahoma. It turns out that Becky staged her own disappearance, changed her appearance and pitched the idea to Cinda.

When she realised she was never going to get the credit she deserved with Cinda, she killed Bunny in an attempt to incriminate Cinda instead. Poppy and Kreps are then arrested and the trio are free.

How does Only Murders in the Building season two end?

If you thought there was going to be a happy ending, think again. Mabel starts renovating the apartment, Charles gets an extended role in the Brazzos reboot and Oliver eventually gets ready to tell Will he may not be his father.

The episodes flashes forward to a year and Charles is set to star in Oliver’s play, along with Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd but it doesn’t go to plan. The show premieres and as Ben goes on stage, he dies.

And we’ll find out all about it in Only Murders in the Building season three!
