Inside the wild Gilmore Girls cast transformations from their first to last episode

Lane aged flawlessly

The cast of Gilmore Girls went through a lot of changes throughout Gilmore Girls, one of them being huge transformations in their character’s appearance from their first to last appearance in the show. Let’s see how much the characters all changed during their time on the show.

Rory

Via Netflix

Alexis had one of the biggest transformations throughout her time as a cast member in Gilmore Girls and was just 19 when she started on the show as Rory. We first saw Rory in episode one at Stars Hollow High and by season seven she had graduated Yale and was about to work on Barack Obama’s campaign as a reporter.

Lorelai

Lorelai also changed a lot while on Gilmore Girls, and by the final episode of the show she opened her own inn and had finally found love with Luke after seven seasons of us all yelling at the screen.

Luke

Via Netflix

When we first saw Luke in episode one he was a moody diner owner who was secretly in love with Lorelai. By the time we come to the end of Gilmore Girls, he’s a smidge less moody and he and Lorelai are finally in a happy relationship together.

Emily

Via Netflix

Lorelai hadn’t seen her mother Emily in years when she knocked on her door in episode one, but by the time season seven of Gilmore Girls started Emily had had one of the biggest emotional cast transformations. Even if Lorelai and Emily never fully saw eye to eye, she had become a massive part of both of their lives again.

Richard

Via Netflix

We first saw Richard Gilmore in episode one alongside Emily where he was a slightly work-obsessed tycoon. We last saw him in the final episode of season seven where during the course of the show he and Lorelai had reconnected again. He pretty much looks the same except for a new moustache and grey hair.

Sookie

When we first saw Sookie she was nearly setting fire to the kitchen of the inn. In her final episode she was a married mother of two and a successful co-owner of the Dragonfly Inn with Lorelai.

Lane

Lane is one of my most favourite characters in Gilmore Girls and I’m sorry but I will forever be salty she didn’t stay with Dave and become a rockstar. By the end of Gilmore Girls she’s married to Zack and has twins, and as far as cast transformations go this woman has barely aged a day. Bear in mind this woman was 34 when she played Lane.

Logan

Logan first appeared in season five of Gilmore Girls when Rory had joined Yale, and at their first meeting, he and Rory couldn’t stand each other. Flash forward two seasons later and a lot more dapper-looking Logan was heartbroken after Rory turned down his marriage proposal. Ouch.

Jess

Jess appeared in Stars Hollow during season five of the show and was a troublemaker, to say the least. By the time we said goodbye to him in season six he’d found the right path for himself and was an established author with his own publishing company. His season two look was definitely the superior one though.

Dean

Dean was the loveable new kid in town and Rory’s first-ever love interest and started as a wholesome character before quickly declining. By season five when we saw the last of him he’d become a majorly cynical divorced man who’s convinced every relationship under the sun is doomed. And his appearance wasn’t exactly the best either…
