The Bear cast just confirmed nothing romantic will happen between Sydney and Carmy

Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri firmly shut down romance rumours ahead of season three

If you were secretly pining for a Carmy and Sydney romance in season three of The Bear, then prepare to be disappointed as Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri just confirmed there’s no chance of that happening. Ever since the first season, the two have slowly become close co-workers and friends, with some fans wanting them to take their relationship to the next level.

But in a recent press interview for The Bear season three, Vanity Fair reported that the two actors firmly shut down the chance of a romantic relationship ever happening between Sydney and Carmy. With tensions high between the two chefs and Carmy already being in a relationship with Claire, it definitely seems best that they stick to just being friends.

During the press conference, both Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were asked whether viewers could expect a romance between their characters in the upcoming season of The Bear, and they replied: “No.” Short and sweet. Jeremy added: “There was no talk in the rooms about any romantic implications [between Carmy and Sydney].”

Just like their on screen counterparts it seems Jeremy and Ayo have a very close relationship off screen friendship, as the actor recently revealed to Vanity Fair. In regards to Ayo, he said: “I have a tremendous amount of respect for her as a person, but also as an artist. And so I hope that sort of that kind of thing shines through on camera between Carm and Syd. Syd is always able to…I don’t know, to deliver something different to Carmy, and she’s usually right. And I guess I think Ayo is also usually right.”
