Tom ‘frustrated’ with Netflix over ‘unfair’ way his Love Is Blind UK wedding was edited
‘It stung a little bit that it was edited to make it look like I’d jilted her’
Tom has aired his “frustration” with Netflix over the “unfair” way his Love Is Blind UK wedding was edited in order to make it look like he’d “jilted” Maria at the aisle when that actually wasn’t the case.
During an Ask Me Anything on Reddit, Tom was asked: “Did you talk previous the altar with Maria about saying NO at the wedding? What happens with the venue? Anyone still eat the catering or they don’t prepare catering for the couples they know that are going to say no?”
Tom savagely replied, revealing that he felt “frustrated” as he and Maria had “communicated” with each other that it would be “more than likely be a no.”

He wrote: “Yeah I guess this was my biggest frustration with the show, Maria and I had communicated with each other all the way leading up to the altar and we both knew it’d more than likely be a no, this had also been communicated to guests and the fact it was mutual.
“We just wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate our journey together. Ultimately someone has to walk away as that’s the format of the show but it stung a little bit that it was edited to make it look like I’d jilted her – and the heat I got for that was a little unfair and at times a bit scary. We all went and had some lovely drinks after filming!
“I think if we were to have our chance again we’d both have split ways prior to the wedding. I can’t imagine how emotional it must’ve been for her getting into that beautiful wedding dress knowing it wasn’t going to be happy ever after.”

Claims that Netflix edited the Love Is Blind UK wedding scene between Tom and Maria were first raised by his best man, who claimed that “everyone in the building knew it was going to be a mutual no.”
He wrote under one of Tom’s Instagram videos: “I was there at the wedding – everyone in the building knew it was going to be a mutual no. When the celebrant asked Tom first, he did an amazing speech speaking for the both of them – it was really perfect, Maria was happy, we were all in tears.
“They then said ‘No no, Tom you have to come in again and just speak for yourself this time’. They then re-shot it like this and edited it to look like no one knew and Tom was dropping a bomb – absolute madness! But that’s TV people, drama drama dramaaa! ”
