Helen Flanagan admits she ‘fell in love’ with David Haye, addresses ‘throuple’ rumours

She met him whilst on I’m A Celeb and was in an open relationship with him

Helen Flanagan emotionally admitted during Celebs Go Dating that she “fell in love” with I’m A Celeb co-star David Haye whilst in an open relationship with him and his long-term girlfriend.

During a chat with experts Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn on the dating show, Helen admitted how hard she found it not being the only woman in the relationship.

Their relationship came to an end in February after Helen insisted she’d only ever been dating David and not Sian. Previous reports claimed that whilst she was aware of David’s girlfriend she chose not to get involved in that side of the relationship, but struggled that he was with both of them.

David Haye and Helen first met when they both appeared on I’m A Celeb 2012, with him being in a long term relationship with girlfriend Sian Osbourne. He and Helen started seeing each other last year, with Helen adding she “didn’t mean to fall in love with him.”

She admitted: “I’d known him for 10 years. We did a reality show together. I remember the first time, seeing him in the jungle, I was like ‘wow.’ It was quite something – it’s really hard for me to talk about [now].”

She continued: “He had a girlfriend and an open relationship. I didn’t mean to fall in love with him, but I did. We did have this amazing connection together – we were like fire. It was weird – I think he does love his girlfriend and he loves me as well. It just brings me to a part in my life that was quite dark.”

The trio sparked rumours that their relationship was a “throuple” but Helen Flanagan set the record straight, adding: “No [it wasn’t]. I was in love with him. I wouldn’t have enjoyed watching the man I was in love with have sex with another woman, that’s not for me.

I had communication with his girlfriend, but I felt very guilty. I didn’t feel nice about it all. It really upsets me because I don’t mean to hurt other people but I was just really lonely. I found it really difficult because it just happened. It’s not nice on another girl and I should’ve known better.”
