It turns out Joey Essex was desperate to date Emma on Selling Sunset but she rejected him

This man is such a menace

If you thought there were serious flirtatious vibes between Joey Essex and Emma during the newest season of Selling Sunset, you’d be exactly right because it turns out he actually tried to date her after filming finished.

Despite Chelsea warning Emma to absolutely not date Joey Essex under any circumstances, it seems that didn’t put him off trying to get with the Selling Sunset star. During an interview on the National Television Awards red carpet with The Sun, Chrishell and Mary spilt the tea on what exactly went down between the pair.

Chelsea revealed: “I mean Joey Essex is so funny, he’s a little bit cocky and he thinks he can get all the birds but he couldn’t get the one bird he actually wanted, which was Emma.

“She was like absolutely not. I had her come there to hopefully help him purchase the house as an incentive but as soon as the listing was done I was like to her ‘you’re not going on a date with him.’ I’m really good friends with his cousin Chloe Sims so I actually already knew Joey through her.”

But it seems like both Emma and Joey have new partners, with him still with Jessy Potts from Love Island, whilst Emma is rumoured to be dating a billionaire.

According to MailOnline, Joey Essex got onto Selling Sunset after meeting Chelsea, and they struck up a friendship. The pair met whilst Joey was in LA, and he mentioned he was looking for a potential new home in the city.

Chelsea then reportedly “roped him into” going on the show, and set up filming with Netflix. Whilst Joey was in the Love Island villa, his cousin Chloe Sims, who has lived in LA for the last 18 months, shared more about how he got onto Selling Sunset. “He stayed with me in LA for six weeks while he filmed,” she told OK Magazine.

A source added to The Sun: “Joey might have a reputation as a bit of a dimwit but he’s not lacking in street smarts. He has become a very rich man through property and savvy investments.

“His cousin Chloe Sims is now based in Los Angeles, and Joey was thinking about investing in a pad for himself, which is how the Selling Sunset gig came about. It also means he’s added another huge reality show to his list — his first for Netflix — which opens up a whole new world of opportunity.”
