Where is Dr Jerome Oziel now? The therapist Erik Menendez confided in during Monsters
His psychology license was revoked in 1997
In the Netflix series Monsters, Erik Menendez confides in his therapist Dr Jeroome Oziel about what he and Lyle had done, which eventually leads to their arrest. Whilst they made him swear he wouldn’t tell anyone about what they’d told him, his mistress overheard the conversation and ended up going to the police to report them.
Despite being scared that Monsters brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez would kill him following their confession, Dr Jerome Oziel is still alive today, so where is the therapist now?

Following the trial he was stripped of his psychology license in 1997, after the Los Angeles Times, claimed he’d been “accused by a state panel of breaking confidentiality rules,” and engaging in inappropriate relationships with his female patients.
In 2017 Dr Jerome Oziel was interviewed by Bustle where the therapist claimed he didn’t give up his license because of the Menendez brothers. He explained: “I did not surrender my license due to the accusation, which implies I gave up my practice because I did things alleged in the original accusation. That is flatly and completely false.”

He also claimed that the Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders adaptation of what happened was completely false, declaring: “Where I’m concerned, there was not one characterization that bore any relationship whatsoever to the truth or facts. Nothing portrayed happened. Period.”

As for what he’s doing now, Dr Oziel is still giving out therapy at the Marital Mediation Centre in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its website describes: “The field of Marital Mediation focuses on improving marriages through mediation as an alternative to divorce. While not all marriages can or should be saved, many couples are happier staying together if they can resolve certain issues.”
