Longer episodes and a rumoured groom: Here’s everything we know about MAFS UK so far

With Married at First Sight Australia now over in the UK, viewers are desperate for another fix of the chaotic marital experiment. Hints and teasers have been dropping left, right and centre about the upcoming UK series and everyone is frantically guessing when it will begin airing on E4.

There are minimal details about the series out there but there have been some juicy details about the new cast already as well as speculation around when the season will air. So, here’s everything we know about Married at First Sight UK.

It is currently filming!

Married at First Sight expert Mel Schilling has confirmed the upcoming series is currently filming and it is set to be wilder than ever. When the finale episode of MAFS Australia aired in the UK, viewers received a very exciting update from Mel.

“I know you’ve enjoyed Married at First Sight Australia here in the UK, because I’m hearing from you all the time and I know you’re loving it. Well, guess what? The UK one is coming soon. In fact, we’re filming it right now. You just wait. We’ve got some amazing surprises coming next season.”

The new season will be 36 episodes long

Following the success of MAFS UK in 2022, it was announced the 2023 series will have 36 episodes.

Speaking about the return of the series, sex and relationship therapist Charlene said: “I love being a part of the show as I love helping people. A lot of time, work and effort goes on behind the scenes to ensure we are making strong matches.

“We truly want to help people find what they’re looking for. Our couples apply to be on Married at First Sight UK because conventional dating hasn’t worked for them.

The first rumoured groom has been on a bunch of reality TV shows before

According to The Sun, Nathanial Valentino is said to be a groom on the upcoming 2023 series of MAFS UK. Nathanial has appeared on Geordie Shore: Hot Single Summer and Young Free and Single in the past.

An insider told The Sun about the rumoured MAFS UK 2023 groom and said: “Nathanial will make great telly. He is really good looking and has a history with reality TV so he knows how to cause drama and get people talking.”

While E4 are yet to announce the release date for the upcoming season, if past seasons are to go by, they usually air at the end of August.
