All aboard: Nottingham’s free evening 906 hopper bus returns next week

The bus service will connect University Park Campus to Lenton and Beeston


The 906 hopper bus service is returning for the 2024/25 academic year. The popular bus route connects both University Park and Jubilee campuses with Lenton and Beeston.

The service is free for all University of Nottingham students and will run Monday to Saturday during term time.

University of Nottingham has announced that bus stops include:

  • University Park: George Green Library, Library Road (for Hallward Library), Conference Centre, Hillside and West Entrance
  • Jubilee Campus: Innovation Park, Newark Hall, The Exchange (for Djanogly LRC)
  • Derby Road (Lenton): Faraday Road, Savoy Cinema, Canning Circus
  • Ilkeston Road (Lenton): Rothesay Avenue, Faraday Road
  • Beeston: Salthouse Lane, Humber Road and Jessamine Court (for Humber Road)

The extended new route means the hopper bus will be easy to access for students living across Lenton.

There will be two timetables, autumn/spring and summer:

  • 23 September – 13 December 2024 (autumn and spring timetable)
  • 13 January – 28 March 2025 (autumn and spring timetable)
  • 28 April – 20 June 2025 (summer timetable)

The University has noted that the bus will not run on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
