The University of Exeter has gone up two places in The Sunday Times’ university rankings

This is the best ranking the university has received all summer

The Sunday Times’ most recent rankings reveal that the University of Exeter has scored highly this year. Exeter placed in the top 20 universities nationally, with an increase of two places from the previous year. This year, the university placed 11th, compared to last year’s ranking of 13th.

The Sunday Times offers a comprehensive review of the best UK universities for students with each ranking being based on a number of individual categories and factors. The Times’ rankings include the continuation rate of students after one year, the percentage of high skilled jobs or graduate-level study, as well as student experience and research quality.

Scoring 89.5 per cent of Firsts and 2:1s overall, as well as a huge 97.2 per cent of students projected to move on to year two. So, all in all, the University of Exeter has very positively high scores in these rankings.

University rankings are one of the most extensive ways to compare what and where you should study as well as helping you guide your way around how each university works. Alongside The Times, The Guardian’s league table placed Exeter 18th, whilst the Complete University Guide positioned the University of Exeter in 14th.

Helen Davies, editor of the The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, said: “The higher education sector is facing unprecedented challenges from debates on free speech to financial stability, but it is important to remember the force for good that going to university can be. See how the universities compare subject by subject, a guide to campus life, and what scholarships and bursaries may be on offer online.” This is very positive news for the University of Exeter.
