So, which couples got the most expensive honeymoons on MAFS UK 2024?

I don’t know about you, but my enjoyment of MAFS UK 2024 is massively enhanced when I can scroll through the websites of the luxury hotels they stay at for their honeymoons and and fantasise about being rich enough to go near them.

Through extensive calculations and detective work, I have worked out approximately how much each of the MAFS UK 2024 honeymoons cost, and which couple was blessed with the spenniest.

My very scientific methodology

Because TUI Airways is sponsoring this season, I’m making the assumption that this is the airline all the brides and grooms flew with.

It’s unclear exactly how long each couple’s honeymoon was. I’ve calculated how much it would cost to stay at each hotel for a week, because that felt like the fairest way to compare them all.

MAFS UK couples are chosen by January, and the honeymoon part of MAFS UK is usually filmed in about March.  Looking at what these holidays would cost now to book in November feels like reasonable point of comparison.

So, here are all the honeymoons that the MAFS UK 2024 cast got to go on. Number 8 is the cheapest, and number one is the most luxurious.

8. Lacey and Nathan – £2,509.92

Lacey and Nathan stayed at the fabulous-looking Gambia African Princess Hotel near Kololi. The hotel is right by a beach that’s so pretty it looks like a Windows screensaver. Booking seven nights there plus flights from Gatwick to Banjul International Airport through TUI works out as £2509.92.

This hotel doesn’t offer an all inclusive package, so I’m guessing that Lacey and Nathan would have had snacky pool food for lunch each day for an extra £70.

I could not find out how much tickets to the reptile park were, and I didn’t want to look at pictures of snakes for any longer, so I’ve left that.

7. Charlie and Eve – £3,263.00

After extensive detective work, I still can’t find the exact resort in Mexico that Charlie and Eve stayed at. If anyone has any intel, please email me (claudia@thetab) and put me out of my misery. The hotel looked absolutely stunning in their honeymoon episode of MAFS UK, and I would like to know where it is just in case I win the lottery.

Instead, I’ve worked out the average price of a week’s holiday at all the luxury all-inclusive resort hotels in Mexico on the TUI website.

6. Polly and Adam – £3,421.48

The couple stayed at the super stylish Ciampedie Luxury Alpine Spa Hotel in northern Italy. The temperature of the snow matched Adam’s coldness towards Polly.

A week in a room with a view of the mountains will set you back £2,629.48. That’s not factoring in the flights, or lunch, or the hiking equipment. This hotel only offers bed and breakfast or half board deals. 

I would estimate the cost of this holiday as £3,421.48. But it could easily have cost more than that if they didn’t already have the right gear.

Holly and Alex were lucky enough to stay at the divine-looking Kandima resort in the Maldives. The hotel claims to have the longest pool in the Maldives. The wooden villas in the water remind me of the place in Bora Bora where Kim Kardashian lost her diamond earring, and this is the energy I aspire to at all times.

You can book a week’s stay at this hotel through TUI for £1864.75 per person.

4. Emma and Caspar –  £3,826.16

What I’d give to be by that pool. Hopefully not arguing with anyone.

The amazing Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Jamaica has a golf course, a private beach and its own waterpark. Really. It’s a shame that Emma and Caspar were too busy arguing to enjoy it properly.

Booking seven nights at this hotel and flights from London to Jamaica costs a staggering £3,826.16.

3. Richelle and Orson – £4838.00

This couple spent their MAFS UK honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Resort in Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius. The fancy restaurant overlooking the ocean was a very dramatic setting for their arguments.

The hotel looks like a dream for people who actually enjoy playing sport. The resort has tennis, volleyball and badminton courts. You can book a week there through TUI for £4838.00.

2. Sacha and Ross – £5,289.76

I’m impressed by how many different drinks they’ve got through

This couple spent their super cute honeymoon at the *deep breath* Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort in Barbados. The hotel has almost as many pools as there are words in its name. It’s on a dramatic between the sea and a vibey 18th century castle. Staying there will set you back a massive £2644.88 per person.

I am unbelievably jealous of Kristina and Kieran’s time in Thailand. This couple was blessed with the fanciest MAFS UK honeymoon in 2024. They stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui Hotel. This place even has its own snorkelling reef pool, so that you can experience the wonders of nature without the effort of leaving the hotel.

Kristina and Kieran seemed to have stayed in a room with its own pool, which costs at least 16,000 Thai Baht (£365) per night. Flying from London to Bangkok and back costs about £1,407.
