A ranked guide to which Hogwarts Legacy house is best, based on vibes alone

Face it: Gryffindor common room is mid

If you want a guide or a YouTube video about which Hogwarts Legacy house is right for you, I’m sure there are many in depth ones that will tell you exactly which is the most strategic option or the one that suits your play style best. If you want a guide that’s going to rank the houses and their general vibes based on petty things and aesthetics alone – you’ve come to the right place! Here is a ranked guide to all the houses in Hogwarts Legacy on how much of a vibe they are.

4. Gryffindor

I’m sorry, take your Harry Potter wannabe glasses off for a second and let’s be objective – Gryffindor is SO BORING. Everyone choosing this is doing so purely for Potter purposes because this is the most nondescript and boring common room imaginable. You are not the boy who lived. You are not the chosen one. Stop being dull.

3. Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff is always the punching bag of the four houses because they accept any old shit, but the vibes overall are actually wholesome. Whilst I love the idea of this common room and how visually appealing it is, I have to wonder if it has a greenhouse issue. All those plants, are we not a bit moist and sweaty? Are there bugs? I am a proud vinegar loather, and the fact the barrels to enter can douse you in the dreaded acid is too horrifying a thought to comprehend.

Cosy but I have a lot of qualms. Yellow being the main colour is a big one.

2. Slytherin

Slytherin’s biggest pro is its biggest con: The dungeon common room is under the lake. On the positive, this makes for an extremely unique and thrilling aesthetic, as water and fish cascade around the big windows and cast an eerie glow amongst the bullies, pure bloods and snooty students residing. On the cons, I’m scared. I know the Wizarding World has many tricks and hacks, but are we SURE that glass isn’t breaking? I would be lying every night wondering if I’m about to drown in my sleep by a cracked pane.

1. Ravenclaw

Hogwarts Legacy houses ranked

Oh, this is IT, girlies. Chic! Luxurious! Amazing views! Pleasing colour scheme and astrology theme! Everything about Ravenclaw feels fine – like you’ve made it in life and you’re relaxing in the penthouse of Hogwarts. Of all the houses in Hogwarts Legacy, Ravenclaw takes top of the ranked list with ease thanks to its breezy coolness. I’m obsessed with it. I want to move in.

Hogwarts Legacy has been controversial and has garnered criticism regarding transphobic remarks from franchise creator JK Rowling since 2020. Avalanche, the developers of the game, have said she is not involved at all – but it is likely since she owns the IP rights to the franchise that she will profit from the sales.
