Antonia Bronze: Inside Antigoni’s co-ord clothing brand all the Love Islanders are wearing

So. Many. Matching. Sets.

When Antigoni became a contestant on Love Island last summer she became synonymous with one very specific outfit choice: the co-ord. Matching criss-cross crop tops and ruched navel-plunging mini skirts seemed to be all the singer wore— often with colour-coordinated gloves.

And after Antigoni left the Love Island villa, her trend started catching amongst other contestants, with Paige Thorn, Tasha Ghouri, Millie Court, Chloe Burrows, and Lucinda Strafford all wearing the look. Red carpets, beach clubs— these co-ords are anywhere Islanders go. So, what’s going on?

Antigoni actually has her own clothing brand

So, it turns out the co-ord taking over your timelines was actually designed by Antigoni for her brand Antonia Bronze. They sell swimwear, dresses, skirts, tops and accessories and it literally all matches. There are seven different colours of the co-ord Antingoni’s become famous for (with long and short skirt variations), which is why you’ve seen her wear them literally 9876543 times on Instagram.

Paige and Danica have word Antonia Bronze loads, either as a favour or #ad for Antigoni. Meanwhile, 2021 Love Island’s self-declared naughty trio Millie, Lucinda and Chloe all wore theirs in every beach club across Europe last summer.

The crop top co-ord style is inspired by her heritage

According to the Antonia Bronze website, Antigoni’s designs are inspired by her Cypriot roots. “This project started with exploring the idea of my own cultural identity,” she says. “My grandparents moved from Cyprus to London in the 1950’s in the hope of a better life. The Cypriot community played a massive part in the rag trade during this time.

“Inspired by my summers each year as a child in Cyprus to visit them, I have a deep-rooted connection with the island. The collection was to explore the contrasting elements from my upbringing in London and my Cypriot heritage and investigate how their distinctive qualities can be merged together.”

Co-ord mystery = solved.
