Feeling lucky? These are officially the easiest Oxbridge colleges to get into in 2024

May the odds be ever in your favour x

In theory, all the Oxbridge colleges should be equally difficult to get into in 2024, so one college couldn’t be ‘the easiest’. After the interviews, the Oxbridge professors pool students who they liked but don’t have space for, so that the less popular colleges can swoop them up instead. But if you look at the actual admission statistics for each Oxbridge college, the numbers tell a wildly different story. The acceptance rates vary loads from college to college.

In general, the University of Oxford is harder to get into than the University of Cambridge. I would argue that this makes Cambridge students cleverer than Oxford students, because they had the common sense to pick the uni where they’re more likely to get in. Plus, Cambridge is way cheaper to live in.

The easiest Cambridge college to get into is easily Murray Edwards College. This is because it’s only for girls, it’s really inconvenient to get back to after a night out, and the buildings look like scrap metal from spaceships, so nobody goes there unless they’re desperate. The easiest Oxford college to get into in 2024 is Jesus College, but the number of applications tend to vary a lot year on year.

A few of the Uni of Oxford colleges function differently to the others, which is why their admission stats seem out of proportion. Blackfriars Hall, Campion Hall, Regent’s Park College and Wycliffe Hall are called permanent private halls instead of colleges. All Souls College only accepts a handful of postgrads a year. Reuben College is the newest Oxbridge college, and I can’t find admission statistics for it yet in 2024, so it has been left off the ranking of easiest Oxbridge colleges to get into. Sorry.
